Pics of your furry friend(s)

Post by MikeO »

Just because....

Meet Penelope, aka Penny. She's a Doberman/Hound mix, we adopted her when she was two years old, she'll be nine the day after Thanksgiving. She was clearly mistreated the first two years of her life because for the first 18 months that we had her, she would hide under my bed whenever anyone she didn't know came over. Now she's the exact opposite, when she meets someone new she's trying to sit in their lap 5 seconds after she meets them Also, she firmly believes that if she makes eye contact with you and she wags her tail, you are legally obligated to pet her for at least 20 minutes. Her favorite activities include taking a nap on the couch (see picture), followed by another nap on my bed (not hers). When she's not sleeping she's full of energy, but I think I would be too if I slept 15 hours a day like her :thu:

This is our tripad Sheeba . My 7 year old wanted a kitten so last January we took her to the humane society. Kittens and younger cats were being adopted as soon as they came in , so she wanted to see this little girl not knowing she only had 3 legs. This was the cat she wanted and those two I’ve been the best friends since.

we've amassed quite the troop over the years, all rescues...

this is the oldest, found her in a gutter by my Mom's house..... She was SUPPOSED to be foster that would go to the stable where my Wife has her horse, 8 years later she's still here... you'll see that's a trend...
Image

second oldest, a friend of a friend was fostering her and her siblings after her mother was run over.... probably the only pet we actively adopted because we wanted a friend for the older one..... 7 years later... they aren't really friends.....
Image

Next came Bob, my wife found him and his siblings in a box on the side of the road..... once again, all the puppies were brought home with the plan that ALL would be adopted, he's still here.....
Image

last year, the Wife's friend called that her sister found this abandoned kitten and she didn't know what to do.... at this point we actually had fostered and found homes for a couple kittens so I thought that would be the case here.... no such luck....
Image

and lastly..... this year.... similar situation to last year...... an Ex of mine posted on Facebook that she has this abandoned kitten and has no clue what to do with it.... the Mrs goes to the rescue.... we both agreed... foster only..... after 1 month the fucker won us over....

Kitties & puppies

1) Love them both
2) People who abuse cats (specifically - why is this a thing...) need to be beaten
3) People who leave puppies in a box on the side of the road need to be beaten just as viciously
I can't stomach animal abuse of any kind....

4) Sir Elliott Buster Bear. I've bragged before. He is the BDE (Best Dog Ever). Bullmastiff's drool. A lot. He loves apples. He can barely contain himself when his mum is eating an apple and he knows he gets a bite. The struggle is real LOL. Nearly two years old. 145 pounds of Mike Tyson level muscle/fitness. 100% sweet and loving to friends and family. The worst nightmare for those that threaten friends and family.

Road life prevents me from having pets, but I’d be showing pictures of my cat, if I had a stationary job.

Thanks for sharing, everyone!

Billy, Dexter's ears look like bat wings. Are you sure he doesn't sneak out to fight crime when you are sleeping?

Marc G, obviously you have a very big heart to take in so many critters in need. My wife is from Trinidad, and when I was down there I recall most people not really giving a shit about strays, so I'm glad that you are picking up the slack for some of your fellow Trinnies!

IndyWS6, we had two English mastiffs when I was growing up. All the slobber of the Bull mastiff, but the next size larger. Brutus was about 200 pounds and Tessa was about 185. The were giant teddy bears though. Very aggressive towards any four legged animals, but total snuggle bunnies with people. Does Sir Elliot snore? Mine sounded like a couple of chain saws when they were sleeping. :nlisten:

Elliott can saw logs on occasion, but it's not over the top. It's funny as hell to watch, though, with his big 'ole jowls a flappin'

Loving all your fuzzballs!

This is Lily, our current furbaby. Sometimes called "oafy-wan kenobi" because she's a giant idiot. Italian maremma mix, rescued from Italy, last one of her litter to be adopted because of the difference in coloration around the eyes which makes it seem like she's got an infection (you can't really see it in the picture, one of her eyes has black around it, the other one is pink). She's quite big. Not mastiff big, but still an easy 20-30kg. She doesn't know it. Cuddles like a boss. Catches rats. Makes friends with cows and sheep around here.

Miss Penny. Just turned 13. In our house, grey faced senior dogs get to do pretty much whatever they want.

Only makes it a few houses on the walk, so now we chase kitties in the car.
