Soooooooooo many symptoms. If you feel that terrible and it comes back negative; what then? At least a positive result "makes sense" :bang:

Good it's negative - did you get a flu shot this year?

Maybe it's just old age, don't worry, it will pass.

Didn't get my flu shot because I came down sick. Don't want one while sick. Today, I'm going to work at my part-time job at NAPA. See if I can make 8 hours. Just got to get back in motion

Damn ... After 4 weeks and no COVID, I would not think I'm contagious. Just feel like shit for some reason. Doctors won't see you except on the phone. I did pretty well today until the afternoon. Ran out of steam on 6 hours but did finish up the day.

I wasn’t allowed to say anything until today, but it's now okay for me to share that I volunteered for the Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer.

The vaccine is the one that has been developed in Russia.

It is in 6 different stages and I received my first dose at 6:20 this morning and I wanted to let you know that it is totally safe and I’m ok, with иo side effects whatsoeveя, and that I feelshκι я чувю себя немного стрно и я думю, что вытл осные уши. чувству себя немго страо.

Comrades.

Dehydration will make you feel like shit. Drink a glass of water every hour... it can't hurt.

My g/f's 90 year old mom was severely dehydrated but, we had no idea. We though she was on her death bed... even she thought it was the end of the road.
She couldn't walk, she couldn't muster enough energy to move to the bathroom. It was very scary.
Luckily, she just gave a urine sample, the week before and the doctor called to say the lab results indicated serious dehydration - he told us to get her to the hospital immediately, for a saline drip.
We had to call for an ambulance because, we couldn't move her. The ambulance attendant started the drip on the way to the hospital.
Two days later, she was back on her feet and feeling fine! It's amazing what a little water can do for a person!

translate -
"I feel a little creepy and I think I have worn out my main ears. feeling a little strange"

that doesn't sound too good - I do not believe I will be taking any vaccine - they have no idea about any long term effects - impossible to tell with such a quick development.
And from what I have heard - the vaccines are made with a form of RNA, which actually makes changes to your DNA - no thanks for now.

best of luck though!!

BTW, I came back (after having covid 19) with a negative antibody test....I think the tests are about 70% accurate....it's only been 2 months since I caught it...
I think if I had come back with positive antibodies, then nobody would bother me about taking the vaccine.....I'll probably wait until other people become the guinea pigs for the vaccine.....

Well, thats good - will research some more.

So - after further study - mRNA vaccines use manufactured mRNA to instruct a cell to make a 'spike' protein that is present on the outside of the CoViD-19 virus. Normally the cells use their own DNA as a template to make the 'instructions' - mRNA - to make proteins. It can't give you CoViD (which I did know) - but there are possible issues. There has never been an approved mRNA vaccines before, although many have been studied. They are also not sure where in the body is the most effective injection site. Other unintended effect - the mRNA strand in the vaccine may elicit an unintended immune reaction. To minimise this the mRNA vaccine sequences are designed to mimic those produced by mammalian cells.
Also, since free mRNA is destroyed pretty quickly be or bodies, these are sometimes attached to larger molecules to slow this process

I still think I'll pass on at least the first run of these vaccines.

Well, the only way medicine can progress is by coming up with technology that was never tried before. Or we would all still be living in the stone age.
This is a new virus so it's not at all surprising it requires a new type of vaccine. So that by itself is not an issue. Without firsts, there's no evolution.

There are a lot of safety tests done before a new medical technology is out or even at the stage of human trials. Literally thousands of hours of research. Is it perfect? No, but we do have more and more people living into their 90s and 100s, more cancer, heart attack etc survivors than ever before despite modern diet and exercise level being terrible, so modern medicine is overall greatly improving our lives.

That said, I can kind of understand the fear of taking the first batch out of a new medication. But first out doesn't mean untested though. But I get the rationale behind it.

It's not new per se, this research/method started out back in response to the SARS outbreak of 2002-2004.

What you are seeing here is what properly funded, time sensitive science can achieve. The vast, vast majority of time sunk into this kind of development is due to funding and research cycles. Very little of it is actually spent in the research phase. From an academic perspective there is the need to write a proposal to acquire funding to perform research of limited scope over a specified time window, write up and publish the results, then use this to apply for more funding. It's very piecemeal. Commercial perspective is that funding only goes into things which are likely to bring a return or gain a strategical patent. When these are removed things move much quicker.

Funny how Pfizer initially said their vaccine was 90% effective... then, a few days after Moderna announced that their vaccine was 94.1% effective, Phizer changed theirs's to 95% effective. I can't help but wonder if Pfizer's marketing department is in charge of their testing?

I certainly get your skepticism - and share it to a point - but I'd hope that the data required to prove effectiveness would be transparent and thoroughly scrutinized. The timing of the revised figures and the slightly better "score" over their competitor sure seems suspicious as hell...

I agree, in general, with your comments about new treatments and new methods - it's how we advance. But it is undeniable that these vaccines were created with VERY abbreviated timelines and softened regulations. I am regularly a Trump supporter in his lessening of regulations, and thinking outside the box - but the Libertarian in me also thinks that the decision to take or not take a vaccine should reside with the individual.

It's gonna be interesting to see how the conversation rolls out around the vaccine. Every conversation creates two extreme and stupid ideological camps with a clawing pulling tendency to force people into one or the other. I doubt this issue will be any different.

I have a problem with mandates, particularly with the schools as a requirement to return to in-class learning. I'm waiting to see what kinds of requirements will be rolled out on that front, but I don't like requiring kids take it more than I don't like requiring adults take it. Especially given the fact that children aren't hardly a vector and don't hardly catch it.

I like the signaling from our new leadership that it won't be mandated, but that's at the federal level. Who knows what states will do, especially mine.

I'm still pissed off about there not having been a national campaign for general health and wellbeing. Take vitamins (vitamin D and zinc), exercise, eat healthier, etc. You're 8 times more likely to catch this thing if you're vitamin D deficient. That's from multi-national cross continental studies and I can't stand it that it hasn't been all over the news and on billboards in our cities.

Much like every conversation that takes place in public, critical components are not discussed and nowhere to be found. We're being asked to change our habits and lifestyles already in many ways, why not wrap that up in a complete package that stretches beyond just the issue of dying from COVID but of dying from many preventable diseases? I can't even describe how much this breakdown frustrates me.

If I get looked at crooked for not wearing a mask when walking my dog around the block in broad daylight, or for being hesitant and giving pause before putting a needle in my arm, then you should get looked at crooked ordering your supersized McBlubber and binge watching that series that you're barely paying attention to while simultaneously scrolling through social media.

It's time for a thorough discussion around the costs of our lifestyles on the public good.
