I caught the covid UPDATE

Post by RyanDistortion »

It's actually a funny story. First and foremost, I have no symptoms. So, don't worry.

My wife got a phone call from work while she was on a zoom meeting with her co-workers. Someone had tested positive in her building. She's a teacher. They couldn't release who it was, right away, but her boss told her in private that she had contact with the person.

So, we both went to get rapid tests. She came up negative and I came up positive. Ain't that some shit?

Edit: My PCR came back negative. Probably a false positive.

Both of my daughters and one grandson have it. They all say it's like having the flu without puking. Just strange?

I'm certain I've got it again.

The wife of a guy at work I was talking to (I was wearing a mask, he wasn't) later tested positive, 4 or 5 days later I developed the same symptoms as I had the 1st time (I hadn't fully recovered from the 1st one, still had a mild headache and mild fatigue after six months).

I did a test this time but tested negative. Its possible I didnt do the test correctly, also apparently it's only 70% accurate idk, but I passed it to my Mrs who has been shielding, fortunately she only had very mild symptoms for a couple of days, and it's also been pretty mild for me compared to last time, went through several symptoms quite quickly over a few days, just left with headache/dizziness and fatigue at the moment.

I've got an antibody test to do next week, hopefully it will at least prove that, despite the negative test result, I'm not bullshitting.

Man I really hope reinfection is not in the cards. My lungs literally just started feeling normal again after having it in March.

I'm still waiting for the results of the deeper swab. I'm not sure what another rapid test would do if the first one was a false positive. Unreliable is unreliable, no? Should just wait for the deep swab results, right?

I've seen reports suggesting it can be caught multiple times, also a study that antibodies can diminish quite quickly.

From my perspective it has been much milder this time, I didn't have the fever, just light sweating for a couple of days, and I haven't felt it on my lungs yet, although last time my breathing issues were a few weeks after the initial symptoms (I've read that it can be caused by the antibodies going crazy) so who knows :idk:

Obviously take all the precautions you can and stay safe.

All three of my family members that tested positive are feeling pretty good after just 4 days. They all are taking Vitamin D, Zinc and C. Careful with the Zinc

Ain't that the truth! My wife has to take zinc around lunch time to not feel nauseated. I throw down all my vitamins and end up feeling like crap till lunch. I wonder if I got a better zinc supplement, if that would eliminate the nausea feelings?

I'm wondering the same. This 'NOW brand' zinc kills my stomach. Think I may order some EZ Melts Zinc and see if these help. I take anti-acid pills daily so my stomach is not up to par for regular Zinc

NOW is usually a great brand, but maybe it's down to manufacturing process. Ours are generic store brand.

But, I went ahead and ordered some from Grown By Nature, so I'll report back when we start taking them. I decided to revisit that brand, because we have a little more money in our pocket and their vitamins were the only ones that ever gave us a buzz.
