'NOW' is the only brand I order online. Zinc just makes us all sick but my wife? She is fine taking it?

Re: I caught the covid
Covid is wacky beyond belief!
I got it---a simple cough for a week, followed by one day of fever and had to be in bed, followed by another week of simple coughing, and taking about 3 weeks to get back to almost full strength.
My wife got it (from me?), ---in bed for a week with flu like symptoms, migranes, partial paralysis of left arm, a full body rash, and about 3 weeks into into it doesn't have the strength to go grocery shopping or take a walk around the block.
My daughter, who lives at home with us, was symptom free.

Aside from your daily multivitamin, any supplement/vitamin regimen should be recommended and followed by a doctor. Your doc can order specific blood tests to see what your deficiencies are and put together a plan for you.

Re: I caught the covid
From WebMD...
Taking high amounts of zinc is LIKELY UNSAFE. High doses above the recommended amounts might cause fever, coughing, stomach pain, fatigue, and many other problems. Taking more than 100 mg of supplemental zinc daily or taking supplemental zinc for 10 or more years doubles the risk of developing prostate cancer.
Taking Vitamin C every day is OK... not zinc. No one really needs more than 50 mg of zinc, twice a week. I take 25 mg once or twice a week to prevent zits.
The recommended daily amount of zinc is 8 milligrams (mg) for women and 11 mg for adult men.

I take 50 mg of zinc twice a week. I've also read where Zinc is good for the prostate?

It can be - if you are deficient. If you're not, at best it won't do anything, at worst it will make you sick. Get a blood test to determine your vitamins and mineral levels then follow your doctor's recommendations.
My doctor was telling me that someone on the internet said Vitamin D helps fight Covid. Which is true - if you were deficient to begin with, but a lot of people were not and started taking large amounts of it anyway. As a result, he's been seeing a lot more people with kidney stones and other issues.
Talk to your doctor about this stuff. Don't go self-supplementing without knowing what you're doing.

That's the results I'm taking about. My test from friday night says I'm negative today. The rapid test said I was positive.

We know a gal that went to a testing center before college started. She got tired of waiting and left. Two days later she was positive for COVID. Scary huh .

Yeah man its really weird. My wife was laid out for 4 days, she essentially did not leave the couch. Fatigue, headache, body aches, a lot of typical flu symptoms. She only had a very mild fever on the first day. She felt better for a few days and then was hit with a rash and fatigue for like a month.
I was completely asymptomatic. I got a antibody test and definitely was infected. Freakin' weird.

I was really concerned about passing it to my Mrs (who's had TB twice), she only had a mild headache and sore throat for a couple of days. So relieved.
I'm almost ok now, still got a fucking headache, suppose I should be used to it after 6 1/2 months.
Best wishes to everyone suffering.

Re: I caught the covid UPDATE
I'm beginning to think I've got this COVID shit. I really don't have the symptoms of what I've read. My chest is tight and I'm coughing up junk. I'm a bit tired but this is from coughing so much, hyperventilating. My wife thinks I need to go get checked but what can they do? I've been staying at home. Some days I feel better than others? Now back to coughing up a lung

Re: I caught the covid UPDATE
My 11 year old daughter tested positive Monday, I am still waiting for my results and for my other daughters results. She only had sinus issues for 2 days and that was it, just mild. She caught it from her friend who was over at the house the saturday before Halloween, her parents knew and didn't tell us, so pissed about that.
I've been having sinus issues, but I normally do this time of year.
Stay healthy out there.

one of the symptoms is a NON-productive cough - so you have the opposite of that.
I don't think you have it - but I only play a Dr. on forums............

I should clarify, they didn't know she had covid when she was over at the house. The friend tested positive 4 days after she was at our house - but her parents never notified us, so they are still assholes. She was even supposed to come over Halloween to hang out with my daughter but said she couldn't because she "had a cold" so a flat out lie.
So we're not too happy with her idiot parents.

I work in healthcare/social services with covid positive individuals. Pretty much slip into a space suit when I go to work.
Had covid test #4 on Wednesday and once again tested negative. So far so good, but this winter is gonna be brootza.
Best wishes to all of you who have been infected.
