And we've had two more rounds of snow since then.
What's worse is trying to keep ahead of the ice dams on my roof. I rake as much snow off the roof as I can safely get to, then put salt on top of the ice that's in the gutters. If I don't do that the ice will go under the shingles and eventually melt into the attic and water will come through the doorways and windows in the spring and run down the inside of the walls. Plus the weight of the ice rips the gutters off the house. I learned all of this the hard way.

ice... salt... the biggest utilization of those 2 ingredients in alabama is making homemade ice cream while we sit around and sweat.

that doesn't sound appealing to me. i've been to goshen, right outside of south bend, in the summer and it was nice. i'm starting to think that the winters up that way sort of suck.
in montgomery it is currently 51* F right now, heading up to 60* today, with winds out of the northwest at 9 mph and a 100% chance of low education standards.
