Spring Reverb problem.

Post by TheHulk »

Hey guys. I have a Marshall Valvestate 232 solid state combo with a spring reverb tank. Ever since I got it (used) the reverb hasn't worked. So, I'm on a mission to fix it.

When I turn up the reverb knob, and shake the amp a bit, I can hear a bit of reverb (at least the springs moving around). So obviously the output of the tank is working. So I'm assuming no signal is going into the input transducer. Right? The first thing I did was take it out and clean all of the contacts. But, still the same result.

Any Ideas what it could be?

Open the tank and make sure that the springs are connected to both ends inside.

Already checked that as well. Everything appears to be connected.

Any other foreseeable problems, if the RCA cables aren't the issue?

I just took the amp out of the chassis, and cleaned and tested my RCA cables. They have full continuity. So, I'm assuming the cables aren't the issue.
