John Williams is just a God among mere composers. His scores are so musical, so deep, and yet still catchy. I remember listening to the original Star Wars score on 8-track over and over.

to clarify: Danny Elfman did the score for Nightmare Before Christmas... and ALSO, John Williams is a badass composer. These are [i believe] two seperate thoughts by Yarbicus.

Yeah, can be pretty hard to tell when one of my thoughts ends and the next begins...

The actual soundtrack SCORE is pretty sparse in that movie.

...But Graeme Revell did it...and I generally like his work.

He also did The Crow.

Easy Rider, all Tarentino's movies, and...Requiem for a Dream probably. Not much pop music but it fits the movie really well. That's all i can think of right now...really any movie that jocks pop music, like Scorsese...oh! The Departed!!!! Roy Buchanan played the credits song!

Inception - so much tension building. It really helps create the dreamscape of the movie

Elfman's Batman score - I am pretty sure this is the music a real batman would hear in his head every time he jumped off some roof.

Highlander - Queen really knocked this one out of the park especially "Who wants to live forever". It really resonates more after Mercury's death.

Terminator - The soundtracks fit the movies so well. So industrial, so mechanical.

Singles - Would? Enough said but the rest were good too.

Star Wars - The score makes the movie.

My two favorite soundtracks are:

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves [I can never get enough of those tracks!]

and

Gladiator

However, The Ring's music was what gave me the chills in that movie. The movie itself was decent at best, but the music totally set the mood!
