Silence Of The Lambs.

True story: I always sleep with the radio on at night. Many years ago I was going through a phase of listening to Classical music on WGBH-Boston. It was what followed the Eric In The Evening Jazz Show. Anyway, one particular night I was having a horrible nightmare. Don't remember specifically what it was about. But at the worst, scariest part I woke up in a panic to hear the DJ say something to the effect of "That concludes our listening to the soundtrack to Silence of The Lambs."

This song is one of my absolute favorites. From one of my favorite movies. Not usually a fan of the xylophone, but this can't be beat in my book:

Remember the old Friday Teh 13th scores? Kinda "Hitchcock" like. I always loved those.

Robocop

Back to the Future.

I might as well include Starship Troopers since it's very similar to Robocop.

Holy crap this x 1,000,000

Just rewatched the "trilogy" after being inspired by Django and I forgot just how awesome Morriconne's (sp?) score really was. Amazing atmosphere and deceptively simple.

From a comedic standpoint, the soundtrack is quite brilliant.

Ennio Morricone is a GOD! If you like his stuff, listen to Calexico's album "Feast of Wire" with good headphones... Feels like you're in a spaghetti western with lyrics!

.
.
.
.

as a side note, i've been listening to a lot of video game soundtracks lately. (something i've never done for any length of time) The God of War soundtracks are really good/epic and Kingdom Hearts had a lot of great arrangements / melody... but Nier and Shadow of the Colossus? HOLY DAMN! Great shit. That's what's great about 'score' soundtracks. They evoke an emotional response in you even though you might not remember when you've heard that particular piece. THENNN..... once you get familiar with the score, you watch the movie / play the game again and it blows your goddamn mind.

This is why i've never smoked pot. I feel like i'd get WAY to into this shit.
"You forget, this is HCAF, where everyone thinks like Stephen Hawking, fights like Manny Pacquiao, pulls trim like Justin Timberlake, and emotes like The Terminator...as long as it's someone else's dog who died" -Benjamin801

Nightmare Before Christmas
John Williams is just a God among mere composers. His scores are so musical, so deep, and yet still catchy. I remember listening to the original Star Wars score on 8-track over and over.
