Is anyone else a BSG fan and a flight sim nerd?

So back in the late nineties the best space sim I've ever played was released, called Decent Freespace. Its fantastic.

An updated version of the engine went open source a few years back and I team of very dedicated people have built a BSG game on that engine. Its called Diaspora: Shattered Armistice. It is god damn FANTASTIC.

Everyone grab your joystick and go play it. Its complex and detailed, but still insanely fast paced and fun (just like the original Freespace and Freespace II).

It is quite excellent. You're going to want a joystick or gamepad though. I've been using an xbox 360 gamepad and it works well.

i like in the trailer how when you steered you saw little maneuvering jet blasts on the nose.

still want to know what an actual explosion looks like in space though. pretty sure its not that. even if those ships are floating pockets of oxygen.
