Ways to catalog your music collection? Any ideas?

I have a problem. I know most of you guys will laugh, but my memory is TERRIBLE and I have the bad habit of buying some CD's and vinyls twice. I've got a couple copies of a dozen or two albums that I've bought twice and I'm trying to resolve this.

I need a way to keep track of all the albums I own, that can be accessed from my iPhone somehow. I know this sounds weird, but I've done it with my DVD collection through IMDB. It makes picking up random used movies a lot easier.

Any ideas?

I just keep a spreadsheet of everything I own, kept in my Dropbox so I can access it from home or at work or on my phone or whatever.

I started it for much the same reason. My memory's a piece of shit that can't be relied on.

It's just sorted alphabetically by artist and then by year of release, much like the CD collection itself.
