Been a fan for a long time and this is my first time catching them. I'm really excited, should be a killer show.
I'm hoping they play all three China Whites back to back.

You lucky bastard!
Have fun! That should be an awesome show!
Hopefully they cover an STP song so they can show Chester how they're song.

Re: Going to see He Is Legend tonight
So before He Is Legend went on I had to sit through an hour of god awful, generic metalcore. First band had some cool parts, but the guy had so much gain that you for the most part just heard a wall of sound. Not enough distinction to really make out the parts. The second band had 2 guitarists, both were rocking Line 6 Spider III heads. I literally could not hear the guitars for the first half the set, the second half the kids cranked the amps and I just heard a wall of sound for the most part. That is unless they tried to harmonized. Damn kids need to fuckin' buy a tuner. Ugh. I hate local openers.
So He is Legend absolutely fucking brought it. Both guitars were playing Rectos. Sounded like vintage mode boosted, but its been a while since I owned my Recto. Very clear tone, you could distinctly both guitar parts throughout the entire show. The bassist had a slightly fuzzed out tone. Sounded HUGE. They were playing with way less gain than the other bands and they sounded SO much heavier. Its so refreshing to hear a pro band, especially after such abysmal openers.
Overall they were very tight. They have a new drummer and they guy ruled. Took some liberties with the parts in a fantastic way. They're lead singer kinda seemed wasted, he had a very strange stage presence. But the dude is hilarious and sounded great all night. Great freakin' show.
Set list:
That's Nasty (it hit at least as hard as the album. Amazing)
Dicephalous
Magnolia
China White
Don't Touch That Dial
Everyone I know has Fangs
Futures Bright Man
The Seduction
I wish they had featured from their first two albums a bit more, I would have liked to hear Mushroom River and The Greatest Actor, but they set was still fantastic. I just wish they'd played longer.
If He Is Legend is coming to your town, go check 'em out.

Re: Going to see He Is Legend tonight
Sounds like a kickass show man! I've never gotten to see them play live, but the vids I've seen were always awesome.
Glad they made up for the shitty openers.
Our local openers range from
to pretty decent. Usually they suffer from the same faults of WAY too much gain or such abysmal stage presence you actually feel bad for them.

Normally the local bands will be decent. This venue is kinda shitty, and they don't care about your mix unless you make buddies with the sound guys. Both bands took way to long to set up so I think there was a bit of a blue mix going. But also they sucked and didn't know how to EQ their amps
The first band had some seriously fantastic clean tones with very tasteful effects on it. It was a weird because his high gain tone was not great.
