Band Mission Statements. We all have some, what are yours?

Post by rock flag and eagle »

The main emphasis of the band is on musicianship, showmanship, pride of accomplishment, tradition, spirit, loyalty, and especially citizenship. It is the pride of a job well done and the accomplishments achieved that make the sacrifice worthwhile. It is possible by setting your schedule up in a wise manner to have successful gigs and still maintain a good social and family life. The success of this organization will lead to success in the individual and visa versa.

I am all for whatever makes you happy and makes your band enjoyable for you. I mean that completely sincerely and without any irony. But still...a band mission statement makes me go :freak:

EDIT: Wait a minute. Is this an actual formal thing your band has come up with, or are you just asking basically, "What is your band about, and what are its general goals?"
"If there was only a way that I couldn't even any less than I already can't then I'd gladly not, but I think I've entered some quantum paradox, dark matter levels of can't evening where the total absolute value of not evenness exceeds all ability to explain the can'ting." - MR RUBATO

Our's is simple:

Drink.
Rawk our asses off playing hard rock and classic metal.
Drink some more.
Fuck mad bitches.
And then drink some more...
And have fun doing it.

Thats the only "mission statement" a band should have IMO

I was just making fun of the stage rules thread  I'm not even currently in a band
After reading peoples stage rules, I just had this vision of a band having a mission statement all framed up in their rehearsal room.

The mission statement of Dan and the Ferdimans is to shake hands and take names. We meet lots of nice ladies who are stock brokers... or maybe secretaries. No wait, students.
