155mm GPS guided arty. Average miss in field conditions -- just over three feet. :eek:

Check out the ranges in the upper-right corner. By the end of it, they're chucking it over 30kms and still hitting dead centre.

my ship was the first to test the 5" ERGM (extended range guided munition) round. GPS guided, conventionally fired/rocket propelled. allowed our naval gun's range to extend from 15 or so miles to a proposed 80.

fired 3 or 4 before almost melting our barrel. canceled the testing.


for accuracy, check this: i was a TLAM tech. unclassified, my weapon had ranges of ~1200 nm, with a CEP (circular error probability) of about 6'. :)
thats if you could get them to transition to cruise though, they had a pretty insufficient thrust right out of the launcher. ALWAYS looks like they were going to go down or head back to the ship :eek:
