Hey Conner, I did see you got the Gear Talk Metal group started, and have already sent my request to join the group. I saw you accepted it (thank you), and will gladly chill and talk about gear and music related stuff there. I also got your personal friend request and appreciate the invite to be friends outside the group, but am concerned.

1st, it appears you are a minor, and I don't know you or your folks. The only minors I've approved are good friends of my son whose parents I've met and who I know don't mind it, or my family members.

2nd, I see we have some common interests, you're a musician, metalhead, and comic fan, and so am I. But, I'm also a Philosophical Taoist and atheist and I see you seem to be a devout Christian, so some of my posts may make you or your parents feel uncomfortable about the subject matter. I don't preach it, or wear it on my sleeve like many do, but when the subject comes up I also speak my peace and don't pull any punches. Not that I hold your Christianity as a negative on your part, I don't. I was a Christian myself for the first 30 or so years of my life. I believe however people rectify their place in the universe with our reality is their business, and as long as they do so with an attitude of compassion, tolerance, and understanding, then that is a positive thing.

However, your parents might not want you having conversations with an adult they don't know on such matters, so I can't in good conscience accept the request at this time.

If I'm wrong, and you're an adult, then by all means shoot me a line to let me know and I will accept the friend request, but if not then once you're 18 I'd be more than glad to accept. Until then lets talk some metal, some gear, and some metal gear.

Think it was the right way, and not too preachy or condescending, or did he get a few sentences in and say fuck this tldr?
