dude, you just went into full blown creepy old man world. either accept it or don't. though nothing inappropriate was said, and i'm sure it was in the interest of avoiding any impropriety,if i were him, that post would come off ass "registered sex offender" to me. :idk:

nothing is private anymore, everything you like or comment on gets blasted all over. its annoying.

i just accepted a request from my bosses boss so now i have to be super careful. at least there is the GAB fb group.

good for you... the only people I'm friends with from work are one or two people that I was friends with before they started working with me.

he is a cool guy and has promoted me 3 times in 3 years, we get along great but he is much more conservative than me. if i would have ignored the request it would have been more odd. i have our fb group for other stuff, lots of my fam is on fb too so its not like i post outlandish stuff.

If I'm wrong, and you're an adult, then by all means shoot me a line to let me know and I will accept the friend request, but if not then once you're 18 I'd be more than glad to accept. Until then lets talk some metal, some gear, and some metal gear.

Think it was the right way, and not too preachy or condescending, or did he get a few sentences in and say fuck this tldr?

I have 11 people that have added me that I haven't responded to. Ranging from past co workers to distant family members to friends from high school. I don't wanna add them so I don't, plain and simple.

Their age makes no difference to me, so maybe you might've gone a bit to far.

Yeah...you took it WAYYYYY too far...as someone else said, it sounds like you're a registered sex offender, or something equally as creepy.

I would have just left it alone and ignored it or denied it...Even if you denied it, all you'd have to say is, "I only accept friend requests from people I know"...and that would have been the end of it. Instead, you went into full on "free candy" van-with-no-windows type shit.
