Show your picks!

Post by soundgardener75 »

Here's what I've been using since '95 back in the Philippines. Wife bought me a bunch of purple ans blue when she was in New York. It avoids lazy guitarists who don't even bring their own picks to a gig from borrowing yours.

Let's see yours!

Hahah thats a wild ass pick brolando

What's the purpose of that shape?

I started using these a couple years ago and now they are the only thing I'll use <3

It has to be the XL's - I can't stand the normal Jazz III's or the Eric Johnson versions

Devin: I haz no idea, but I just adapted to it and it works. I will say this though, for recording, I'd still use regular sized picks for clarity, the weird sides work well for my noise scrape style and shit.

I've been using these for a long time. Used really thin picks back when I first started playing. Now I gotta have 2.0 or I'm not happy.

Used black Jazz IIIs for years, up until a few months ago when I found some of these in a store:

Went through Tortex, Gator Grip, Stubbies, etc. over the years before finally finding the Jazz IIIs. Tried the full size Ultex a while ago but didn't like 'em. Having not used 'em for years, I forgot that it was more the lack of a beveled edge on the full size stuff that I don't like the sound and feel of. In Jazz III form, the Ultex is great. :)

I use these interchangeably. The yellow Ibanez pick is about 20 years old and shows very little wear from playing. When I was into Metallica and the like years ago I used the heavy tortex picks, but these days the medium/.73mm picks are perfect.

Started using these when I was grinding the tips of my tortex pics into oblivion from one night's practice. Interesting thing is, they're a bit stiff, so the gauge I use tends to be a step or two lighter than other picks

My buddy got me started with these a few months back, and they're really great. Long-lasting (did I mention I'm a cheap bastard?), and really seem to work with me. The other thing he did was show me how he slashed a 'grip' on the top with a razor knife, which I like a LOT.

Been using these for a while. I used stubbies for a long time, then jazz IIIs, then ended up with the green gator grips for a while, but in the end, I like the Ultex ones the best.
