Impressive specs, interesting design.

My only concerns would be fans die....how bad is it going to get if the fan dies in that hot box? I know..it has a thermal core.....idk. I always worry about worst case crap. Granted apple engineers are much smarter than me...but...still...

The second concern would be "How do I keep my clumsy ass from knocking it off the desk?" Its tiny.

It also costs lots lots more than I'm ever willing to spend so it doesn't really matter much to me. It does have impressive specs.

i would imagine thermal runaway would initiate a shutdown :idk:
however that fan looks beefy and easy to repair.

I completely understand why some people are freaking out about the lack of internal expansion. But I tried upgrading the card in my 2006 Mac Pro to a 5770, and while the main DVI output works fine, none of the Display Ports are supported for my machine. So for those who live exclusively in OSX and don't Boot Camp into Windows, there really haven't been many graphics expansion options, anyway.

And with 6(!!!) Thunderbolt ports on it, adding an external enclosure with a few hard drives and some USB 3.0 ports won't exactly be the end of the world.

I'll probably grab one when they hit the Refub store. My 2006 won't install anything later than 10.6, so I'm ready for the upgrade.

I think my one fear would be heat, like already mentioned. Apple is notorious for first gen of anything "small" in their computer side having heat issues. Mac mini/rack mini comes to mind. Hell, they even had a wireless router/backup drive combo that had heat shut-downs. At least it looks like it has big vents top and bottom, but I'd imagine there'll be some build up no matter how they go about offing the heat.

Specs are impressive though, and I'd imagine by the second or third revision they'll be excellent machines.

It looks like a trash can but I kinda like it. If I was rich I'd probably get one but wait till the 2nd gen.
