Spotted this guy in a shop, no tag no nothing in a random pile of stuff. Asked how much, said $159 but it needed work and was missing the footswitch. the guy in the shop didnt know what it needed, but at $159 I took a gamble. but turns out the clean channel is not working well. Also no foot switch. Ill fix the clean channel and I used to have a spare jack for the footswitch if I still have it laying around ill make a footswitch if not ill buy one.
Ohhhhhh man I'm jealous!! I've been wanting to get one of those for a good price. I wouldn't worry about the clean channel. Without the footswitch the 2 channels are blended. Just set the clean channel to 0 and use the gain channel that way.

I figured that out quick! I had forgot that they had a mode with both channels engaged. I had the rgp1000 rackmount for a short while and I think the foot switch for that it had a mode to set both channels on. I doubt ill be keeping this, so ill let you know first if I off it.
Nice, a friend has one too. I had to make a footswitch as well. I used an old Crate 3 button. The trim pot is in the power output section. The manual and schematic can be seen below. Don't forget about the treble pull pot for added gain.
CONGRATS!!!! The 1980's-RG80's-made-in-Irvine, CA totally ROCK!!!!!! As JSutter suggests, don't forget to pull out the Treble knob. I played my RG80 for 30 years before I found out about the secret Treble pot pull!!!!
