Incoming NOD!

Post by greatmutah »

Incoming New Orange Day! I did some thinking and having had my Helix repaired and not digging it, I decided I'm going to sell it. I also got a promotion and new position at work with a pay increase so I decided I wanted to get an Orange Rockerverb. I hit up some sites and found a nice looking Rockerverb 50 MkIII on GC online and it's now on it's way to a store by office. Should be here sometime next week so I can pick it up and make some noise with it. So it's on its way and hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday I should be able to pick it up and make some loud noises with it. I thought about the 100 watt, but to be honest, since I'm primarily home playing 50 should be more than fine. And if I get in a band again, most places around here aren't super keen on big 100 watt amps pushing a ton of air (found that out with my last band). But I'm looking forward to getting it and playing a fuck ton of Clutch, Mastodon and CoC riffs through it.

Thanks bro! I'm excited! I did think about a Thunderverb but I'm already familiar with the Rockerverb and knew it would do what I wanted.

You absolutely should. If for no other reason you can find out if you really like it or not haha.

Absolutely it will! When I had my buddy's Rockerverb at my house last year, I played a ton of those riffs on it. I think my go to test songs were the first three off Psychic Warfare. I'd play X-Ray Visions, Firebirds and A Quick Death in Texas in order haha.

That's awesome, I've always wanted to fuck with a Rockerverb. And speaking of Thunderverbs I've come super close to picking up a TH30 a few times, they come up for pretty cheap these days.

I fully intend on doing that actually  It'll be on a day I'm working from home, my wife is in the office and my son is at grandma's so I can put up some volume out of both. I'm also going to start looking for a PPC cab eventually because shit's gotta match!

I seriously considered a TH30. I'm sure I'd have dug it too but I wanted some big bottle tubes. I don't dislike EL84s but I like them with certain styles of amps.

Orange is the one brand I’ve wanted more than any other, really. I, too, am selling my Helix, and I’ve been working stupid overtime for the last month, so I’m going to be going with an Orange for my pedalboard-based rig. Actually, two: Guitar Butler and Bass Butler. The latter is inspired by my looking at the liner notes of the first Weezer album, as a kid, and going nuts over Matt Sharp’s rig. The former is because I want to swap something out that fits in the same footprint.

Thanks gents! I’m pretty stoked about it. Probably won’t be in this years BOTR because I don’t have a cab for it yet  All the same I’m super excited to play one. It’s been about two years since I borrowed my friend’s RV100H so I’m ready to get down to business. Got a few cabs to try it with too. Metro cab with Creambacks, 1960A with Greenbacks and my old ass Blue Voodoo cab with Hellatone 60Ls/V30MFs. And while I do plan on getting a PPC cab I guess I need to decide between horizontal and vertical.
