ampeg 2x10s, same as the big ones?

are these 2x10s the same speakers as the 4 and 8x10s? id like to try mic'ing the bass and seeing what happens.

Yeah same speakers. They're made by Eminence I think.

Kinda, and it depends on which big cab you're talking about.

The speakers in the 810/410 are 32ohm generic/OEM (not sure who actually makes them)
The Heritage 810 is 32ohm Eminence
The 210AV is 4ohm Eminence

I DI my bass for the lows and mic my 810 for the mids.
If you can't play good, play loud.

yeah it says they are eminences. i do have a hartke 4x10 i guess i could use but id like that classic ampeg tone in not a big package if possible

I’m told the 210AV does a good job of doing the Ampeg thing. The top rated are the 810E, 212AV, and 210AV in descending order of size.
If you can't play good, play loud.

I have had one of those for about a decade. Sounds good and is very easy to transport since they weigh very little. It works fine for practice but I’m not sure how well they holdup at gig volume. They are intended to pair with the SVT micro head (only a 200 watt bass head).

Yeah it's definitely not a live cab for a rock or metal band. I'd say 300w is the minimum you need in this type of situation...

But as a studio cab it's great option.
