Google has sent out a notice that Chrome is vulnerable to hacks, I think.

ohhh that makes sense. I just had to update it again this afternoon. I think I updated it maybe once last year and about 5-6 times this month alone. I wonder if they are concerned about attacks due to the current geopolitical situation in Europe.. it has to be related. But hey, whatever it takes to keep shit secure. Chrome has been my main browser for years and I have a ton of passwords stored in it, it may be time to empty out the cache..

I used to use Chrome the most because it was pretty good at recovering from crashes, until it wasn't. That and the unabashed data collection and selling pissed me off so much, that I tried a bunch of others. These days, I mostly use Chromium or Firefox with the settings seriously clamped down. I recommend Firefox 97 or later. Here's a couple articles on how to tweak it:

https://proprivacy.com/vpn/guides/firef ... rity-guide
https://www.vpnmentor.com/blog/the-comp ... x-browser/

https://static.open-scap.org/ssg-guides ... index.html

If something that you need doesn't work you can always reverse the settings, until you find what caused it. Outside of viewing a lot less ads, personally I haven't really experienced any functionality problems.
