Share your unpopular musical opinions

I'll go first: The Edge is a genius. His use of textures never ceases to amaze me, and though most of his parts are simple, they are almost always a perfect fit for the song.

Yes to The Edge being a genius. He's also the most copied guitar player since EVH.

More unpopular opinions:

Nirvana is god awful

Hendrix version of the Star Spangled Banner is garbage

JCM 800s are highly overrated now and were not very popular when they were first made, quite the contrary

My favorite Beatles songs we're all written by Harrison

Sabbath best line up was with Dio

Come at me bros :bring:

Cabs

Here’s mine partly in response to Billy!

Dio in or out of Sabbath Blows! Lol. The only time I liked Dio was in Rainbow believe or not. Otherwise, fuck that midget.

Judas Priest also sucks and Rob Halford needs to put in his place and told to shut up about calling himself the “Metal God”. Man that’s so annoying. I do like Sad Wings of Destiny and Screaming for Vengeance tho.

Anthrax prolly doesn’t even crack my top 50 thrash bandS let alone BIG 4.. Nigguh pleazz

Dave Grohl shoulda killed himself instead. I’m not even a big Nirvana fan but I never hated them like what Grohl has done..

Petrucci is awful. Him and Chris Broaderick should join and make the worst album that ever existed by 2 guitarists who dont know at all how to play from the soul. Just plastic to my ears..

Steven Adler is a great drummer!

Speaking of Sabbath, i love the long instrumental intro section to the song Into the Void but the rest of the song after vocals come in, not so much. Its ok though but i keep wanting it to come back to the awesome intro riff again. By contrast, I love the song NIB. That whole song just rocks end to end!

Rage Against The Machine was a fraud perpetrated by four corporate shills.
Tim Commerford had the worst imaginable Bass tone on that first album.
GWAR truly is the most relevant hard rock band of the last thirty-plus years.

Pop is among U2’s best work.

The Violent Femmes are one of the shittiest bands to ever get any type of success.

Poison is awful.

The first 3 Weezer albums are excellent. Looking at their discography and seeing they have 15 albums out by now? JFC.

well, might not really relate to this audience but

- aside from Hip Hip and regardless of the increasing popularity here, German lyrics still tend to suck
- Molotov and Urban Dance Squad were the best crossover bands in the 90ies
- Japanese guitarists and rock bands are a lot of fun to watch

and I agree on the Edge.
