New Billy Gibbons release.

Post by Diddlybo »

I wasn't aware that Billy was doing a reword with Matt Sorum. I think it sounds pretty good, much better than his recent (last 20 years) releases, IMHO. Its good to hear him revisit some of his 70's era tones.

Anyway, here are some tunes. Hope you like 'em.

Yeah man, I got my hands on it last week and have been playing it pretty regularly. He's not breaking any new ground but if you dig Billy G and what he does it's well worth a listen. Better than his previous solo releases IMO.

Yeah, its nothing new or groundbreaking but at least it has a little energy to it. Billy has often sounded like he was just phoning it in in recent years but it sounds like he was putting more effort into this.

If given the choice of seeing Billy with these guys or ZZ Top, I think I would choose these guys. Then again, I've already seen ZZ about 15 times, so that might have something to do with my decision.

Nope, nope, noooo!!

I love Billy Gibbons, and I hate these.

For fantastic tone in the last 20 yrs, check this out:

And BTW, it looks like ZZTop gets a hell of a lot more $$$ invested in the old videos. Specifically check out the level of the models/actresses in "I Gotsta Get Paid"

it sounds like a washed up Nick Cave doing La Grange covers . It has none of the energy ZZ had .
