Recently upgraded my kayakability and full taking advantage of it in the intercoastal areas around New Smyrna, FL.

Here's a bunch of photos from the last week or so. Would like to see others kayak photos be them whitewater, backwater, or lakewater.

aw man! that looks like a great time. maybe 15 years ago, a buddy of mine and i went to the outer banks and rented sea kayaks. we started on the inland side and paddled for a coupla hours around marshes and in the flat water, and worked our way into the waves. exhausting, but so awesome. best part of the day was being followed by a curious cormorant who kept going full submarine on us and popping up right near us  really cool boat!

Every time I go from gliding to displacement drive to grab the camera the kayaks are gone before I can take a photo :idk: ;)

Kidding aside - great pictures, reminds me that every minute on the water is usually quality time :thu:

... unless I am fighting with shutter lag:

My experience was opposite of this. Twice now I've cooked it two different ways when caught the same day and the flavor is fine but it's very very soft, no flakiness. Heard a sushi guy in a fishing video say he likes to let the whole fish, uncleaned, sit in ice for 4 days and it makes for a nicer texture. I tried it for 3 days and man, what a difference. Fantastic texture. I've currently got a couple more sitting on ice that will be dinner on Tuesday.
