Yeah I got a few hours into it and then got bored. It's a shame, because I LOVED AC2.

Re: Assassin's Creed III
couldn't agree more... I'm a MASSIVE AC fan and I feel while they fixed some things with the game they have made many other things WAY worse, the fighting just isn't the same and feels "out of time"... I just can't get the hang of it... I got to a point in the game where I have to fight off a gang of soldiers and I kept getting my ass kicked, so I turned it off and haven't looked back since... real shame

I love the time period and was stoked to be able to play this game but what a huge disappointment. I played the first Assassins Creed and couldn't get into it either but I do remember the fighting being a lot better. The visuals on III are truly amazing.
Glad I am not the only one who had a falling out.

Re: Assassin's Creed III
I bought the first one when it came out, thought it was great at first, then realised the whole game was just the same shit over and over. No stealth or variety involved in the actual kills, the same info gathering shit all the way through the game, the combat was nothing challenging or interesting... and by the end of the game, it was just plain irritating that you couldn't walk 2 feet without someone wanting to chase you around. Pretty shit assassin, if he can be easily recognised in the street. Maybe if your killing didn't consist of running right up to the bloke and stabbing him, you wouldn't be so recognisable.
Ended up just finishing it as soon as possible so I could get rid of it.
Didn't bother buying any more after that. Played the 2nd one at a friend's house a while after it'd been out and it seemed like pretty much the same thing all over again.

Ahh that is a shame to hear... I was thinking about this at some point. I'll stick to Borderlands 2 and Guardians of middle earth.

Re: Assassin's Creed III
IMO there was a massive jump between AC1 and AC2 and it's "extensions".... the missions were more varied etc and there were far more methods for killing your target with the added challenge of doing it in a specific way to sync 100%... but it's the fight mechanics in AC3 that just frustrate me. what I live was in the previous parts the fight mechanics more or less stayed the same and were just more refined as they progressed the franchise however it seems to me that in AC3 they tried to reinvent the wheel and after being used to the older games I find it REALLY hard to get used to the new fight controls, which is what ultimately turned me off the game since what's the point of being an assassin if you can't kill people lol
