At $4 a gallon for gas, commuter cars are quickly becoming the envy of many. I drive a 2013 KIA Optima and for whatever reason lots of guys as me how I like it and that they're considering getting it. It's like "Dude, you look like a self respecting man. How do you feel driving that car? " And seriously, this is one of the best cars I've owned in regards to total value and whatnot (my favorite was my '94 Camaro:love:). I wish they came stock with better tires. Honestly beyond that... for what it is it's awesome. 4 knocker motor that puts out 200 horses, gets good mileage, and handles nicely on corners and chicanes. Feels tight and together.
Anyway, that's all beside the point. I think our culture in general needs to seriously re-vamp how we view our automotive needs. I'm all about humble vehicles, even if they're more expensive if that makes any sense. Congrats!!

I totally agree about humbling our daily automotive needs. But I still need to have a V8 powered car in the garage for stupid fun every now and then.
I think it's a caveman instinct.
ej, happy new car day!!!! Those things barely sip the gasoline.

I think people are having trouble coming to terms with Kias being decent cars
I mean they are, don't get me wrong, but the stigma is still kinda there.
Getting 30+ in the city ftw!
Eli, did you get the manual or auto? We need to know whether to question your sexuality or praise you.
Haha congrats, man. I don't actually give a shit about that stuff. I've been laughing at the Honda dorks that define their manhood based on their transmission.
I wish KIA would make a small pick-up .(extended cab or quad cab, for us bigger guys) .
I hate to say it, but I like our Soul (granted it was bought new, and is serviced regularly, and hasnt been abused)
It doesnt ride as good as my 06 GMC Sierra quad cab 2wd, but on a long road trip, it's got plenty of room, and doesnt drink much gas at all.
