Is it just me, or are most musicia (mainly metal) flaky

Post by trey85stang2 »

Ive had a craigslist ad up for about a month trying to get something going. I get 2-3 responses to it a week it seems like. but not a single person every provides a phone number or calls/texts me to actually move forward. In email they all want to get started asap.. but that never happens. thats outside of the ones that want to tour the world and want you to quit your job to dedicate 100% of your time to a band/the band. Those guys disappear when you tell them you have a full time job and that comes first.

So is it just me, or does this happen everywhere?

Oooh yeah... CL is loaded with flaky wanna-bees.... not jut metal.

Best way to find band mates is to go to shows and steal them from other bands.
Lots of musicians hang out at shows so, you don't always have to steal them.

The vast majority of musicians are flaky.

If they say they play. Run away.

I can't stand them and they can't stand me.

I guess I need to hit up some shows. I do know if I switched it up and said I was starting a country or rockabilly band i would get solid contacts.

Creative types tend to not be as conscientious as the general population. That's a starting point, and then you throw in a creative endeavor that pumps in a ton of ego and you get a bunch of flakey losers.

I've had good luck buying tires and rims on craigs, but IME most things guitar/amp/musician related are bottom feeder jokes.
