Corny yet Great?

Post by RIFF »

One of the first guys I think of is.... Glen Tipton.
Dude has the corniest "WAtch out, or Im gonna walk out there & cum loads on your face!" as he looks out at the audience, but is indeed a great player.
And on the flipside, fucking Downing looked INTO IT & cool as a fucking god with his V.

But those Tipton faces..... Man, I just cant watch, & take him serious!

Steve Vai and his blouses. Obviously he is an amazing guitar player, one of the best that I can think of, but damn watching him play live is pretty strange. He looks like he’s in some horrible softcore production of a horrible romance novel.

Zakk Wylde, he went out in the crowd and played his guitar behind his back. The only thing I'm thinking is how bad he smells and the poor people in front of him in the crowd.
Some guys like a challenge. Not me.

 So true. He seems to really be into the imagery of emotion & confidence that he portrays to his audience these days, & yeah... its like watching Fabio on the runway!

I saw him back when he was with Whitesnake, which was pretty cool.. That was right before Passion & Warfare was released, so he did For the Love of God during his Solo, which felt warm & fuckinnnng glorious! :rawk: He didnt dress all corny n shit, just a leather trench. Back then, I wasnt into snake so much, I was just kindof a fan of Vai's playing. Wouldnt even do that now!

HAHA, dude... I saw him around 06' or so at Morongo. Opening bands sounded great! Wylde was cranked way beyond the sound systems ability & sounded like fuckin SHIT!! I used to be a Soundguy, & did some big bands, but Id make them sound tits! Then some dumbshit in charge would insist on it being cranked beyond distortion levels & the sound went to shit. Fine, youre paying asswipe, even though youre a fucktard. Enjoy!

But yeah, Zakk had this habbit of taking a swallow of beer & spraying it into the air, which would land back on him & the drummer & anyone else in proximity. How fuckin disgusting! Yeah, no thanks!

He seems like a nice guy, every video I've seen about him is pretty positive, but yeah, that stage act is corny with the biker and beer lol.
