So I bought a new car....

Bought an Outback today. Still in shock that it actually happened, I've wanted one for a while now but didn't think I'd start looking until next year, we just sort of stumbled onto this. So far everything is awesome, drives much smoother than my accord (granted it's 17 years old now). I look forward to road trips in this thing.

My wife has a blue one. She calls it an SUV, I call it a station wagon. Either way, it corners like it's on rails.

Congrats OP!

One of my singers just bought one of those. He carries one of our subs and our Behringer X32 mixing board, in a hard case. Shit fits perfectly, sideways, in the hatch.

I love my CRV, but I'll be looking at one of these, next time I need a car.

nah, I never learned. I don't even know if the outbacks still have a stick shift, I know the crosstreks do on some trims.

My whole family drive Subaru or Toyota. My mom's Forester has been a total POS / Money pit but my sister loves the two that her and her husband drive. I drove my ex GF's Forester XT (basically a WRX with a Forester body) and it was a riot to drive.

They'll go anywhere, which is cool AF.

I've heard some horror stories about the foresters, not as much about the outbacks but the ones I heard usually seemed to be with the older 2.5 engines, especially the gasket and oil leak issues.

Yeah, I definitely plan on taking this everywhere, I'm not an off road guy, but I plan on spending more time in the great outdoors (about to renew my fishing license) and this will be great for camping and going a little bit off the beaten path (though a small part of me doesn't want to mess anything up on it because it's so new)

Thanks for the congrats guys

I've seen lots of them with Rooftop tents which is absolutely how I'd go if I had one. I love camping and you can't beat a RTT.

learned something new - never heard of a rooftop tent.

What kind of floor do they have in them?

I think it depends on the one you get.
