.... a video game where you're about to accomplish one level and start the next, but then 18 hidden really annoying sub-levels pop up that you have to clear before you can move on?

I am kind of there right now. Kim and I know where exactly we want to be and we're on the right course and on schedule but this year we had several different challenges (levels so to speak) we had to accomplish. Restructuring the band, getting rid of a lot of toxic people/situations in our lives, then the wedding, now we're getting ready to move cross country... really a lot for one single year. It's been fine so far though.. .

My shit has been mainly just the last couple of weeks... it's all just frustrating bullshit that changes the course of my day/week at a moment's notice and makes it difficult to know how the following day is going to play out, which kinda sucks for trying to schedule customer's service calls. So I just started laughing at it all, let go, and just do one thing at a time until this little shitty period passes. Just seems like one thing after another after another
Maybe you have to look at it as one day at a time and just focus on what you have to do today. Or it's very easy to get too crazy/overwhelming. As useful as looking at the big picture can sometimes be, other times it's better NOT to look at it and just take each little task in its own merit.

I've been dealing with a warranty issue with a Trane high efficiency cooling system and thought it was finally solved earlier this evening. Everything checked out fine after a bunch of shit and replacing $1200 in parts which had to come out of pocket even though I was handing them the bad parts as they were handing me the replacement parts. Yes that's right, they charge me for the parts even though I'm doing a straight swap over the counter. NOBODY else does this, usually a supplier will only charge you if you need to take the new part now and bring back the bad part later. Guy just called and said it's down again. I've been through this shit with the modern Trane systems before.... often times each and every part of the control system needs changed out before the issues finally go away. They are pieces of shit. Don't buy them. They are so bad that I'm considering refusing to work on them... Don't want to do that but they can so easily become a time suck and can't reasonably charge a customer for all the time that has to go into repeated trips to the residence, repeated trips to the supplier, repeated waiting for tech support to call back.... it's a veritable nightmare even for someone that's familiar with them like I am. FUCK TRANE. They used to be great but since they went to their newer (about 7 years ago) style controls they fucking suck.
That kinda shit coupled with two broken down vehicles, lost my wallet, etc has got me laughing through my pissed offness

Everything is like this now. The whole world is becoming like Trane. Shit doesn't work and no one cares as long as the money keeps rolling in.

I’m in a good place fwiw. My mom dying really fucked me up for a while, but I feel good right now. Anxiety has always been a problem for me, but I’m taking it one day at a time. Anxiety is what killed my mom, and I’m doing everything I can to live in the moment and appreciate when things are good. I’m drinking right now, and it’s awesome. Watching heat. Working on some guitars. The wife travels a bit for work now, and it’s been nice to get back to my hobbies.

Look at the big picture from 50,000 feet. Look at today from across the room...
