Telemaster Inbound! Finish advice needed!

Hey guys, I have a poplar telemaster body coming and Im trying to figure out what to do finish wise. Id love to do a dakota red or coral finish from reranch but I think itll be too cold to shoot nitro by the time the paint would show up. I was looking at finishes and analine dyes with tung oil seem like a good looking fast way to go. My question is, if i decide i want nitro down the road can I sand/prime the tung oil/tru oil finish and spray nitro over it without any problems? And what brand of dye do you guys like? Also is alcohol or water based better/easier to work with?
