time.

In other words, name some bands who made music that doesnt sound dated today. Lets just keep this a hard rock light metal discussion because the heavier stuff has its own thing going.

For one I would say Kings X. If Gretchen was made today it would be 100% relevant and not sound dated at all. I have been listening to that album and it made me think of how brilliant it is in that it could have been produced in 2016 and I would have been like wow thats a breath of fresh air and so unique. Obviously that is 100% subjective but who are some artists and what are their individual works that you feel have stood the test of time.

Even though both albums came out in the 90's, Skid Row's Slave To The Grind and Subhuman Race still fucking blow me away to this day.

Do those count? The band was formed in the 80's :D

I definitely agree on the KX  :fap:

I would only comment on the heavier side in most cases. I guess Maiden Piece of Mind, Powerslave. I mostly like heavy, so a lot of the 80s bands I am not a fan of. Then or now.
