So I've been using my M-Audio MK416C just fine with Reaper until now. Just connected it for the first time after the move and now it doesn't show in midi devices in Reaper at all.
I've tried everything I can think of:
- Reboot Reaper
- Reboot the pc
- Change USB cables
- Change USB slots
- Reset all midi devices from Reaper
The MK416 shows correctly from device manager as "sound and video controller" so it's just Reaper that's not playing nice.
Google is no help, there seem to be a ton of people with the same problem and no solutions. So, only option is to sell the controller and get a different one and hope it'll work?

USB.
I got in touch with Lynx if it's their driver that's interfering with it since it worked before I switched soundcards.

Lynx are awesome , I used the L22 for years and moved to 2 x AES16's . Did they get back to you ? They can "take over" your computer online and look for the problem perhaps it is related ?

Re: MIDI keys not recognized by Reaper?
did you disable the systems sound card , some MB's have it built in , it may be confused after the install . What is the OS ? I would also check the BIOS and make sure there isn't any sound card or options to disable there . Do you any other way of testing the controller , maybe it came with a standalone plugin ? Are there any switches on the controller that may have been changed ? etc etc It's one of those doesn't make sense until you stare right at it things .

Re: MIDI keys not recognized by Reaper?
Nope, the controller only has soft buttons, ie. it resets to default every time it's turned on.
The system sound card has been disabled for years.
Actually now I see that I also have the Yamaha MR816 tray program running for no reason, maybe that's what's causing the problem. (But it didn't cause problems with my old interface)
