So I have a Mackie Mix8.
If I want to sum my mic's to a mono out, do I do that from an aux send?

Easier just not to pan them and take the L or R main output, less circuitry involved in that I suspect.
Or, if you're losing volume that way because of the mixer's pan law, pan both mics to whichever side you've plugged into the output for.
