What do y'all think of this recording? (metal)

Post by Devin »

One of my good friends wrote and recorded this tune, and asked me and the vocalist for my metal band to lay down tracks on it.

I did an improv guitar solo starting at about 2:53 - used my tele and the THR100HD

Edit: updated clip includes bass guitar and an improved (IMO) vocal mix

Thoughts?

Sounds pretty damn good. :rawk:

The verse section riff reminds me a little of the verse section in Pull Me Under, oddly.

Say hi to Zane for me. Haven't talked to him in a bit.

Awesome. Vocals are definitely too up front for my tastes. I can crank up the volume and barely hear the rest of the "band" when the vocals are rolling. Some great riffing in there.

And I TOTALLY hear the Pull Me Under Loop is talking about. Not that there's anything wrong with that at all. It isn't a direct rip, but it has that vibe. Cool tune.

That was great. Even the vocals for me were quite good. Loud, but good. Dug.

Awesome, especially that part from 1:00->

Only thing I'd change is the kick sound, it's sort of separate from everything. Maybe just lower it -0.5dB to make it sit better?
