This is interesting and potentially useful. Of course good mic technique should limit pops and most dynamic vocal mics have some built in pop blocking ability over studio condenser mics (some better then others). This seems at very least could act as safety to prevent unwanted pops and is cheap Even cheaper to make one yourself. If your mic is otherwise really good but very sensitive to pops maybe this would help.
