I decided to sell my Carl Martin Octa-Switch and get into another pedal switcher that can trigger channels and has more presets. The Octa-Switch is beyond nice, but I felt that I outgrew it some. I would have gone with the newer MkII version, but they go new for $400+ and used ~$340. I read up some on the offerings from Joyo [which seem like a great unit, but the channel switcher model isn't on the market yet]. After talking with Michael over at Earth City Sound Co., he told me that he backs the Moen products and hasn't had any complaints/issues brought to his attention of the GEC9. So I snagged one up... It has nine loops, with 3 of those being isolated [but can be chained into the rest - these also work for channel triggering]. The unit is a true bypass, but also incorporates a buffer if you want to use one. It also uses a bank system for the presets; it has 10 banks with 5 presets per bank.
I have been considering it with the Ecstasy so that I could set my clean channel to always have reverb/delay when i switch over to it, and have my lead channel turn the loop off...
Unfortunately, I don't know that that kind of device exists...If it does, I'm unsure because I haven't looked hard enough.

Let us know what you think of this thing man!
You can do that with the Voodoo Lab GCX audio controller and the RJM rack gizmo

With the 3 separate loops you can use them to trigger effects loops and channel switching AS LONG as it is done by 1/4" mono plugs. This unit doesn't do any MIDI at all. I am not familiar with the Ecstasy's layout to say that this unit would work... If your amp has an option to turn off the effects loop via a 1/4" mono jack then this could disengage your effects loop and switch your channel to the lead. I will be setting mine up with some effects in front of the amp and some in the loop. This can be done by using one of the loop's send to the input and the return to the effects loop send, then at the end of the whole chain use the out of the switcher to the return of the effects loop. If you set it up this way, you could choose to not engage any of the loop pedals and just switch the channel.
The other cool thing about this unit is that it can act as an A/B/Y switcher too... So for those who are running two amps, this might be your ticket to pedal switching and an A/B/Y box!
Having looked at the Ecstasy, I don't think this switcher would work with your amp... I could be wrong, but it doesn't look like they will interface with each other for channel switching. The Uberschall looks like it would work with this switcher for turning the effects loop on/off as well as channel switching, but not the Ecstasy.

You would just need to wire a cable from the xtc's 7 pin jack to all 1/4" plugs. Bogner used to make one that they called the "medusa" cable but it's not rocket science to make one if you can solder.

Well that answers the question then. I was thinking the control of the Ecstasy is MIDI; that is cool to know that a cable is available!

I will definitely get a picture or two, and possibly a video of the complete system [with my Laney] up at some point. I will get my Laney tomorrow and the GEC9 on Thursday... So maybe Saturday...
I hope it is on par with the Carl Martin I sold to get it. The Octa-Switch was an amazingly awesome switcher!
I hope it is as awesome as it looks... Michael from Earth City Sound Co. said that Chris Osbourne did that video [second one I posted] for them for free because of how much he loves the GEC9. Michael also told me that Chris has been using the unit for over 2 years without any issues/complaints.
Right now, I feel pretty confident with the decision I made...
I might also add that if any of you are looking to buy a Moen, Joyo, or Biyang product check out Earth City Sound Co.; Michael has been nothing but great with answering my questions and provided a fast shipping time.
