Cubase 7 test
just upgraded to 7 , it looks way different , has some cool new features . I thought I try out their drums in the "loop browser" and new keys in padshop . The amp sims sound pretty good to I think , I used the "plexi" with a master mixdown and their new feature , upload to soundcloud" export , testing testing 1,2,1,2

I much prefer ezdrummer and SSD as there is much more control and options and fills and whatnot but still for a super quick sketch book the loops could be useful .

Dude that sounded pretty damn good. I kinda have GAS for Cubase 7 but just can't justify the $$ yet.

Thanks man , I gotta say I think with the upgraded plugs and verb' and pads it's worth it , they also got the prices down from a few years ago so it's way more attractive these days . Cheers

Re: Cubase 7 test
Sounds great!
I upgraded to C7 shortly after it came out and I have been very happy with it so far.

Oh, is that the amp simulation plugin that comes with C7?
I have to admit I only tried it once and liked it, but ever since I got my POD HD500 I use that for my tones as opposed to software amp-plug-ins.

Re: Cubase 7 test
I've been thinking of getting Cubase 7, although there's probably not much point unless I replace my old computer as well. Probably time to update my interface while I'm at it too.
Ah fuck, that all adds up to a fair bit of money.

I know that feeling . I'm using a x9650 cpu which is a few years old now and it rocks . There are also many fine new interfaces out there these days at very good prices . While not cheap you should be in a better position then a few years ago , as now it's better & cheaper as well as C7 is cheaper too .

Re: Cubase 7 test
Yes, amp rack, I have tried it and I was impressed!Recently I started recording two tracks simultaneously, one wet POD signal and a dry DI signal that I can use alternatively with amp simulation software!
I got more flexibility that way.

Yeah, my music PC was pretty decently spec'd when I got it... probably near 10 years ago. Four gig of RAM? Pffft... when will I EVER need more than that?!

Still, $1.5k or whatever I spent on it back then over 10 or so years isn't too bad. It's worked great all that time, just that with plugins demanding more and more these days, it's not really keeping up.

The interface I'm sure I could get something better these days. I wouldn't mind putting together a rack mounted computer so I could make the set up a bit more portable to lug around for recording the band and whatnot. Still, it's money I can't really be spending at the moment.
