Periphery 2 Album release debuts at 15 + 16

Post by nightflameauto »

Where's cavemanic when you need him?

Kinda cool when any metal band manages to hit 15 + 16 on the Billboard charts these days. My copies of the albums haven't arrived yet, but the buzz is growing over them.

Anybody have theirs yet? Good, bad, different, fuck off? Does the dude that posted the picture of the burning Periphery hoody because he was so mad about the direction of the new albums post here? Is the sky really blue or is it just government mind control? Etc. etc. etc.

That's pretty rad. The albums are really good, but were a bit of a grower. After my first listen I thought they should have just done one album and left out a bunch, but now nearly every song is a favorite. Especially after seeing them live last week. Nice contrast, between the two there are both some of the heaviest material they've written, and some of the sing song iest. Great fucking release.

Basically, if you liked periphery before, you will enjoy. If you didn't that won't change

That does seem to be a common complaint. I wouldn't quite go that far, but I will say he's not my favorite part of the band.

I remember listening to one of their songs and turning it off immediately when the singing started.

If not mancunt, then perhaps scene-ish. Whatever talent he may have is overpowered by the blandness.
