Anyone else believe NFL games are fixed?

Post by Dave Lister »

Like the outcome is predetermined? I'm not sore about the Superbowl results, but I've been thinking some funny business has been going down for the last several years. :cop:

I don't know about "fixed", but sometimes I feel like they're being orchestrated or something. I don't think they actually are, but ya know. Just get a gut feeling.

"Fixed" may be a bit strong of a word to use. But I noticed what appears to be a lot of favoritism on field to the more popular ($$$) franchises. :cop:

I personally think it's pretty obvious in some games (both regular season and Playoffs) that calls get one-sided and quickly so yeah, I dunno about "fixed" but "influenced" for sure. The NBA is well-known for this (in how "fouls" are administered which early on can impact a game's outcome) and in baseball, with how subjective strikes/balls are called, not to mention flat out whiffs when it comes to safe or out, I don't think the NFL is exempt at all.
I mean srsly... how many people in the League get busted for doping, like ever publicly? Almost none. It's just too clean to believe.

It definitely seems like certain teams get more calls to go their way and certain players definitely don't get the benefit of the doubt.

I don't know about whole games being fixed (otherwise, small-market teams like the Green Bay Packers and San Antonio Spurs would never get within smelling distance of a championship, let alone a dynasty), but I can believe that point shaving takes place. Take a team of refs that collectively only make a million dollars a year, and tell them that tens of millions of dollars ride on one single game where the Giants are -6.5? Make (or don't make) a pass interference call late in the game? Fuuuuuuuck.
"If there was only a way that I couldn't even any less than I already can't then I'd gladly not, but I think I've entered some quantum paradox, dark matter levels of can't evening where the total absolute value of not evenness exceeds all ability to explain the can'ting." - MR RUBATO

Coincidental that SF came back from a massive deficit to cover the spread? Follow the Vegas money--all the answers are there.

They have a button in Buffalo Wild Wings that affects the outcome of the games. Watch:

any cleveland browns fans here? if so, they you might agree with the games being fixed. as a browns fan its my job to find excuses for the defeats besides just bad coaching and bad playing.
