Best Way To Share Recordings With Bandmembers Online?

Post by thisguy »

Like the title says, what's the best way to do this? I want to put some audio tracks online for band members to listen. I would rather something private but I guess it isn't necessary.

I've used grooveshark.com in the past but it looks like the java applet doesn't like my old OS (Mac 10.6). What do you guys use?

soundcloud has an option for a track to be silent. also has options for comments at different points which could be useful for this application.

billy likes tonefinder, but ive never used it

I've been meaning to do dropbox anyway. Can you organized tracks into an album on a single page like photos?

You can put subfolders inside the band folder and organize tracks inside it. Is that what you mean? My band uses Dropbox most of the time.

Dropbox is also cool because you can download the app and stream tracks on your phone/tablet...or straight download the files on a computer.

Otherwise I'd use soundcloud and make it private.

Someone posted their site on the Kemper forum that was supposed to work as an online recording software for bands, meaning the drummer records the drums, posts them on the site, then the next person can create new tracks for guitars, mix them in, etc etc.

I'm not sure if this was it, I can't find the thread anymore.

I just use Google Drive or Gmail.
