i sent a realllly heavy ash body to the electrical guitar company in florida 13 months ago and earlyer this week this thing showed up:
EGC neck thru job w/ his own p90 in the neck and humbucker in bridge. vol tone and spin a split w/ 3 way selector neck is brushed metal w/ a matte clearcoat which gives a cool frosted look and a pretty natural(less cold) feel:
bod, back and hilarious neck pocket:
access! hahahaha
and last but not least a really cool homage to Travis Bean:
these are my favourite guitars i'm really stoked to finally own a second one!
That's just how his necks are. There is no variation to the heels, they are all machined the same way. This being a custom refit instead of an actual EGC model, just kinda had to make it work. He doesn't really do teles for a reason.

In looking at the website, it appears that these are 3/4 neck thru body construction of sorts, to create a more neck to body resonation, making the sloppy looking neck joint not so much a tone issue as a visual issue.
They could of at least applied some finish and laquer to the piece of wood that they hacked out. Would look more correct if had been done.
The fact that the pickups and strings are mounted directly to the neck should almost remove the body from the tone equation. I think it's cool and the less than pretty execution of the neck pocket is purely an aesthetic issue. It seems as if it would be difficult to see unless viewed from the correct angle.
I think the neck and guitar are pretty cool. I just think that a little more effort could have been put into the neck pocket and finishing touches. Still very cool though!
I asked for zero refinishing on the body/think that beck pocket makes sense really. Could have gotten a bolt on but i wanted the exact same neck as my first guitar and i got just that. Yes it is the thicker of the two necks he offers 12.5 Lbs ish

Wait...is that the whole guitar now, or just the neck that weighs 12.5?

Glad you like it. I would go fucking nuts at the neck pocket. To me it looks like dog shit, but hey, your money and guitar. Enjoy.
