RHCP

Post by Meelocheck »

Every now and then I revisit some of the stuff I grew up listening to but didn't fully appreciate at the time. One guitarist that blows my mind is John Frusciante. The tone, the way he plays - so simple yet such feeling. I want that tone. If I could emulate or play like any one person it might be him, srsly. Take the song Readymade - not very complex and the solo kills but it is just what the song needs - nothing more, and the tone is epic. Went back to Blood Sugar Sex Magic and if I were on a deserted island and could only have 3 albums to bring with me, that would be one. I can still think back to a time when I was 18 (1991), cruising around in my POS car with my gf, just jamming that shit. It seems like forever ago but I can still close my eyes and feel it like it just happened. Maybe it is the Crown talking, but I miss that shit. Isn't much out there today that gives me that same feeling, or vibe, if you will. Rock the fuck on gentlemens for time is fleeting /feeling old

John is a true disciple of Hillel.

BSSM is a great album. But if I am reaching for any of them, i's always The Uift Mofo Party Plan.

Werd. Just been digging on some of the older stuff. So many great albums...BSSM is on my list of top albums, not just for the guitar, but the bass and vocally. Some of the best lyrics evar!

Newer RHCP made me completely disenchanted with them altogether. :( it's awful.

I remember the days when I liked them quite a bit. Oh well... one of those things.

BSSM was rad. they should have become investment bankers or something directly after though.
john fruciante as a musician is awesome.

I've been on a major RHCP kick lately. BSSM will always be the best to me, but I do love Mother's Milk, Californication, and By The Way. Stadium Arcadium is ok. The first CD is pretty awesome but the second one I could probably do without. I actually like I'm With You, but it does lack on the guitar playing.
