Older gentleman at my work who was in hospital with COVID since late June passed away this Monday. He was with the company for 18 years.

This is the first (hopefully last) person I knew personally who succumbed. Makes me reflect on some of the bitching I've done about the stress and strain that the virus has had on my life and family.

At least I'm alive to complain and have my loved ones around to talk to about my complaints. Perspective....

Sorry to hear about you loss man. And yeah, perspective can be a real eye opener, but don't feel bad about venting about the stress on your family. You have 5 children, that's no joke, man. I'd be shocked if you were NOT stressed out.
Obviously, losing a loved one to covid is the worst possible outcome, but the financial, mental and social stress families are going through is a very real problem that is going to affect us for years to come and compassion is needed at all levels.

Yeah, sorry to hear Mike, condolences.

My next door neighbour lost her dad. I can't really say much without being political, but it wasn't the family's decision to move him from hospital to a care home. He pretty much caught the virus on arrival, and died 2 weeks later.
