Randy by far. I love Jake and Zakk but Randy far and away. Here's why: Randy was the first person to compose music that played to the nuances and strengths of Ozzy's wail. He could develop classical progressions that were beautiful but also played on the theatrics of Ozzy's presence. Say what you want about tone but when has a piece of music as powerful and well thought out been composed since Diary? Again the light and shade parts, the incorporation of études to design a masterful piece and the way key changes were interwoven into the song.

Diary's not the only one. Crowley, Revelation and Steal Away the Night, Believer, You Can't Kill Rock and Roll all benefited from Randy's writing and influence. Yeah he could do some straight forward rocking when he wanted. But at his creative best with Ozzy he give credence to the air of the Prince of Darkness vibe that surrounded Ozzy.

and not just how great RR was but those recordings he did with Ozzy were influential and important for the genre . Also props to Brad Gillis , must have been a ton of work for one man to step up learn all the and nail it like it was his own .

And with the crowd holding up Randy posters, chanting his name, etc. I can't even begin to imagine the pressure the guy was under.

Dude I'm the first one to admit that I'm a shitty guitar player, but there's nothing really impressive in this video to me. I could grab my 12 string and do that. :idk:

That said, Randy was my favorite of the three.

Zakk just turned into the one of if not the best cliché of metal doucheness that ever existed.

I mean come on... Zakk Wylde? What a stupid way to spell that. His real fucking name is Jeffery. (insert facepalm here)

Zaak is awesome acoustic, but Randy is still the best Ozzy ever had.

Randy never had a chance to develop into his prime as a guitarist. Imagine...

Marshall 2536 2x12
CS Deja Vibe mkii > SupaTrem Jr. > Xotic Wah > OCD v2.0 > Fulldrive 2 mkii > TB Jailed Pitchblack > (Alter Ego x4)

Randy all the way. Probably just as or almost influential as EVH. Imagine if he had lived.

I'll take Randy with Jake as a very close second.

Zakk is good, but IMHO he's a very watered down John Sykes.

Accept it.

ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!

THIS.

Randy's playing was far beyond what Zakk could do, musically speaking.

Zakk is a fantastic player, but Randy will always be Randy.

To understand how superior Randy is to Zakk - if there was no Randy, there would be no Zakk. Capiche?
