Rosana by Toto is a terrible song and shouldn't be on any top 10 drumming lists
Most metal sucks
Van Halen (the band) is annoying
Miley Cyrus puts out good cover songs
People would like Nickleback if the frontman wasn't so ugly, probably myself included

EDM can be really cool.
The telecommunications act of 1996 is the reason why there is rarely true art that gains mainstream attention, music in particular.
Modern metal vocals almost always ruin the music.

Steve Vai is a great guitar player, but completely unlistenable.
Brad Gillis was Ozzy's best guitar player.
Fiona Apple and Billie Eilish are the best alt/pop writers of all time.
I can't stand Nirvana
As cheesy as some of it can be, Nightwish is one of Europes best bands and Emppu is a great guitar player. I can zone to that shit all day.
Lamb of God has one of the worst guitar tones in metal. Honky, modern mess.
Jinjer, while full of talent, is just god-awful.
Pantera does nothing for me
Doug Aldrich is what Sakk Wylde wishes he could be.
I have tons... but all I can think of with a quickness.

- Screaming for Vengeance is one of the worst Priest albums, not the best.
- If SRV wasn’t American, his historical significance would be less than 10% of what it is.
- Fear of the Dark sucks, and Powerslave, Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son are the best 3 Maiden albums in a row.
- David Coverdale > Robert Plant
I’m sure I’ll think of others,
Jake is best
British Steel is the most overrated and one of the worst Priest albums. Amongst ones that rank as being in the best.

As far as Dio goes; he has one of the most iconic metal voices there has ever been. Yet about the only song I will willingly listen to him is the Stars tune. I don't like any of his music. Slow, plodding and boring. Especially when compared to his peers (Halford, Dickenson and a little later, Tate). On the subject of Rob; taking over your own nickname and namedropping it at every opportunity in the 3rd person is lame.
Ok, I'm writing your name back on the list, just so I can cross it out again

Re: Share your unpopular musical opinions
Alex Lifeson's guitar solo on "Limelight" is the greatest ever recorded.
Iron Maiden is better than Judas Priest but I prefer listening to Priest.
The Division Bell is my favorite Pink Floyd album.
Bono is the greatest frontman in rock history.

Fact!
If you haven't watched the Classic Albums episode for 2112/Moving Pictures do so immediately. There's a scene were it's just Alex with his guitar and amp and he plays the whole solo.

We'll call it a draw. Mercury definitely has the better voice.
Re: Share your unpopular musical opinions
BroSlinger, I agree with your take on both Dime and Brian Setzer. Dime was an amazing lead player, but also an amazing rhythm player. And Setzer rocks, such a talented player.
JiveTurkey, I'm with you on the Sex Pistols, I've never understood the love for them and the Ramones.
Ostinato Rubato, I totally agree with your take on vocals in modern metal, but I would expand the statement to include metal in general. There have been countless bands that were amazing musicians, but the singer was some talentless hack doing his best Cookie Monster imitation. A lot of the metal bands that I do like, I like "in spite of" the singer. Basically, if everyone else is good enough it's worth having to listen to the crappy vocals, in my opinion. I've gotten good at just plain blocking out the vocals with so many years of practice.
atrox, I agree about Lamb of God's guitar tone. It's strange the say the least. Not sure what they are using lately, but for years it was Mesa Mark IV's, but with a very strange setup on the 5 band EQ. Whereas most people playing that amp use some variation of the classic "V" curve, Lamb of God would set there's up in a "W" curve, which I've never seen anyone else use, and makes for a very different tone.
Yarbicus, I totally get your affection for Lifeson's solo on Limelight, I've always LOVED that solo.

Metal vocals are usually unlistenable if the singer is trying to do anything BESIDES cookie monster vocals. Seems like the only clean vocal paths in metal are either whiny pop or cheesy operatic nonsense. DNW give me some growls any day
