My first electric was the same as phrophus'! Ibanez RX170. I bought it used, probably paid at least new price for it.



I sold it for next to nothing and am still kicking myself for that as it wasn't a bad guitar at all. Played really nice and with non-shitty pickups would probably sound fairly decent.

First ever was a Washburn G-2V - identical to Wayne from Wayne's World's pre-strat guitar.

First I ever bought myself was a seafoam green ibanez talman. Surprisingly rad guitar.

Bought this MIJ strat for 300 bucks when I was 15 way way back. I don't think I could ever sell this, it just plays so fucking well, and sounds great. I've modified it a lot through the years though. The Japanese don't fuck around when it comes to building guitars.

1991 American Standard Strat. Still miss it dearly. It was the reason I jumped on the white Blade R3 I bought last March. To compensate for missing my white Strat.

No they don't. I love Japanese guitars.

My first cheapo guitar was a LP copy. My first REAL guitar I bought was a Gibson Custom Shop Q-100 = strat type, pointy headstock, Jackson looking guitar. Still have it, plays great, I break it out every now & then

It was an Ibanez grx20. Yes yes.... with the POWERSOUND humbuckers.

After playing for too many years with an old SG copy my dad bought from Sears Surplus, I bought a new Vester in 1989. Still have both of them. (Actually, I have almost every piece of gear I've ever owned.) Played ok, but a "guitar tech" cracked the neck during a setup. Still plays, but the back of the neck is cracked near the top. I seldom pull it out these days.

Parents bought me a guitar with a built in speaker called, The Terminator. I bought myself a Fender Squire Strat and 15w Squire Amp.

The first I bought for myself was some thing I got at a pawn shop in Millington Tennessee in 1987. It was a metallic blue Charvel knockoff. Can't even remember the name, or much about it. I played it for about 2 years, and sold it to some dude on my ship while I was in Japan. I took the money and went out and bought an 89 Ibanez R440 (radius.) To this day that is my all time favorite guitar. In 2004 I got it signed by the man himself (Satch.) He commented on it, and noticed it was a pre-JS Radius body, with the RG type thin wizzard neck.
Incidently, my other favorite guitar is an 87 RG560 my dad bought me while I was home for Christmas. A couple years back I had sims custom shop refinish it for me. Patrick bonded a Marine uniform to it, and then sprayed like a million coats of clear on it. It looks amazing, and is a one-of-a-kind. They'll bury me with those two guitars, one on each side.

70's Hardtail Strat FTW.


Alot of people dont know that Jake E Lee's main white "charvel" started life as a sunburst 74 hardtail strat. He had the headstock cut down (I could kill him for that lol) and refinished it white & added a Charvel logo to the headstock.

Always wanted a clone of that guitar (except with the big headstock, cause big head strats fuckin rule)

My first electric purchase was a greenburst Teisco Del Rey. what a whopping piece of shit. lol

Japanese Mann Les Paul Copy. I believe it was a bolt on neck. It was a dark colored top, wish I would have kept it. Could get radio stations through the pickup. First time I ever drop D tuned was on this guitar lol. I think I paid 75$ for it. This would be back in 1998 ish time period.

I ended up trading it in on a used Epiphone V.. I got 100$ trade in value on it.

Wow! Haven't seen one of them for awhile. My first guitar that I bought for myself was a Washburn strat copy. CAn't remember the model.....had a graphite neck on it though and the wonderbar lol. Actually not a bad playing guitar but I absolutely hated that bridge.
