I’m talking about leaders on the national stage. I’m sure there are millions of them who do in towns and communities throughout the country. But Mitch McConnell? Ted Cruz? Pence? Etc....
That said, I am always open to correction. Name me some good examples that I’m overlooking. I’d actually appreciate that, because I’d LOVE to be wrong about this.
P.S. I don’t see a whole lot of hope from the Democrats, either, in case you thought I was just being mindlessly partisan.

P.P.S. I agree that close-minded, one-sided views are a problem, but I do think we have a few national problems that are slightly bigger than that one. Just sayin’.
I'm ready to get blasted for this - but I think Pence sticks to his views/beliefs/principles very closely - and it a Republican team player.
I think you're absolutely correct about both those points.
I get it that you don't agree with his Christian beliefs (that doesn't sound right, now that I've said it)
Well, it isn't quite right, in the sense that that's not an accurate statement of my view of Pence.
From where I sit (and I freely admit that this is *my* personal perspective, not established, universal fact), Pence has embraced a number of dangerous heresies and does not adhere to (orthodox) Christian beliefs. Many of the "Christian" beliefs he holds are actively damaging and are the source of great harm to millions of people. But I do definitely think that Pence truly and thoroughly *believes* what he sees as "Christian" beliefs. On that point, I think he's a stark contrast to Trump, who strikes me as not believing in anything other than promoting the Trump(tm) brand, whether than means using the American flag or using pseudo-Christian rhetoric. Unlike that, Pence is definitely a true believer. I just personally think that what he believes is dangerous. Again, ALL of that is my subjective opinion. I like to think it's an informed opinion, based on education, training, and critical thought, but it is still only my opinion.
- but I think he has a strong moral compass -
I think he's clearly got a very strong compass. He's been remarkably consistent throughout his career ~ again, a stark contrast to Trump.
I just would be very hesitant to call that compass a "moral" one.
you just put him in the 'evil, heartless, soul-less camp as soon as you don't agree with him.
No. That's not it at all (though I understand that pretending that's what I'm doing makes it easier to dismiss my opinion). Hopefully, the comments above have made that clear.
Also hopefully my reply do you didn't feel like getting blasted. I really hope it didn't, because that's certainly the opposite of what I'm trying to do here.
