- I’ll piss off all the Black Sabbath fans and say this; if it’s not being sung by Ian Gillan, Tony Martin or Glenn Hughes, I’m not interested in anything under the Black Sabbath name anymore
- Of the first 6 Ozzy studio albums (2 with each guitarist), the ones with Randy are the worst
- Screaming for Vengeance is one of the worst Priest albums, not the best.
- If SRV wasn’t American, his historical significance would be less than 10% of what it is.
- Fear of the Dark sucks, and Powerslave, Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son are the best 3 Maiden albums in a row.
- David Coverdale > Robert Plant

I’m sure I’ll think of others,

Van Halen 3 had some great songs on it.

Limp Bizkit is awesome.

One Hot Minute was one of RHCP's best records.

Trying to think of something that hasn't been said yet, but nothing much comes to mind.
Except being funny and saying "my music is good".

Or maybe here's one: I think it's a great time for modern metal, with a lot of stuff blurring the boundaries between metal and other genres.

Agreed here. Gary sounds great on that one.

I’m sure I’ll think of others,

Jake is best

British Steel is the most overrated and one of the worst Priest albums. Amongst ones that rank as being in the best.

Add Piece of Mind and make it a 4 pack

No

As far as Dio goes; he has one of the most iconic metal voices there has ever been. Yet about the only song I will willingly listen to him is the Stars tune. I don't like any of his music. Slow, plodding and boring. Especially when compared to his peers (Halford, Dickenson and a little later, Tate). On the subject of Rob; taking over your own nickname and namedropping it at every opportunity in the 3rd person is lame.

I'd like to add:

"One Hot Minute IS their best record, and Dave Navarro is the best guitarist RHCP ever had."

other random thoughts:

Slayer sucks. I mean, it was cool when I was 16, but not so much now.

Dimebag was better than Hendrix/Page/Clapton/Beck/SRV combined.

The Cure is overrated.

Joy Division sucks

Garbage is underrated

Brian Setzer deserves more recognition. Massively underrated. If he had died of drug overdose or a vehicular crash in 1982, he would be a bigger deal than SRV and Randy Rhoads..

I can dig it. Slayer for me stopped at Seasons in the Abyss

Apples and bowling balls, bro. Different tools for different jobs.

BroSlinger wrote:The Cure is overrated.

Can't quite comment on the correctness of this one, but one of my possible unpopular musical opinions is that I do like The Cure.

YES

I skipped his SRV question because I am not a fan but not enough of a not-a-fan to expound.

And with Dio I agree. The only stuff of his I find listenable anymore is Strange Highways and Angry Machines, the rest of his fairytale crap I don't need. Just too damn one-dimensional.

And yeah the "Metal God" thing is pretty cringey

My gripe with Plant is that live he just didn't have it, and never went for it. I bet Plant went "Oh crap" when he saw that in the set list

100%. Saw them live a couple years back on the Strange Little Birds tour and they killed it. Shirley was fantastic and the band sounded massive. I also like all their albums minus the new one. Only reason I say minus the new one is I haven’t heard all of it yet.
