Trying to gain weight while doing running workouts that burn that many calories?
On what planet does someone who’s trying to gain weight do that much cardio?

Jesus Christ man take the time and learn some basics here. Crunchberries pretty much hit the nail on the head there though I’ll say I think hitting protein is important amounts of fat and carbs for the remaining cals is pretty personal but the point is caloric surplus for weight gain.
And  at saying you won’t gain weight while eating fruits and vegetables.
Let me ask you, what do you think that 5 lbs you gained in a week is made of?
Muscle?
Not unless you’re om drugs.

Maybe you missed the part where i said protein shakes do nothing for me. I am lactose intolerant so fuck that jazz.
I get it you think this diet is insane. On the other hand its working well for me.

I work out because I like to, not because I need to. So that part is irrelevant.

There you are saying I am literally full of shit again. And I told you I am not constipated.

I eat a mostly vegan diet and its working well for me. I never count calories and I seem to always be eating. I'm not a militant and I do relax the rules occasionally but I draw a hard line at meats and sugars. I lost 60 pounds the first year of eating this way. It helps that I exercise daily.

Eating to gain weight? Now I'm good at that! If gaining weight could be included as an Olympic sport I'm pretty sure I would be a threat to bring home the gold.

There's no mystery to gaining weight: You need a caloric surplus. Eat clean at a slight surplus and you will gain good weight over time. Five pounds in one week? That is anything but lasting, quality weight. You are holding water or you are holding shit. Running to gain mass is like playing backgammon to get pussy.

If your ultimate goal is to gain weight, you will have to make a sacrifice or an extreme correction with calories.

Regardless, I'm not trying to shit on you or fight. Whatever makes you happy. Just be safe and sustainable in your approach.

To be fair to Jordan Peterson, he repeatedly states in that interview with Rogan that nutrition is not his expertise and even Rogan questions the logic behind the diet. He claims it works for him and the key with it is that he's working with a dr or nutritionist if I recall (been a while since I saw the interview).

I mostly fall into the camp of seeing your dr/nutrition person before making a drastic change like that. I went keto for a while and for the first time in 5 years I was able to get below 300lbs, but it's not something i run around saying everyone needs to be on. Logically, something paleo-like would make the most sense for diet. For nearly everyone, I think the basics of diet are going to be the same.

Never recommended protein shakes, I'm talking about macro nutrients.
I don't think this diet is anymore insane than eating vegan, paleo, or keto. When i first heard of this diet I was truly intrigued and nearly started it myself. After researching it and reading data from both sides I decided against it because the perspective just don't stand up well to scrutiny.

My point is I don't think you seem to understand the basics of nutrition. IE What are the macro nutrients and what are their roles in the body, same for micronutrients, what will a diet free of carbs do to your body, how caloric deficit/surplus work, etc.
These things work the same on all bodies, the exceptions for the Petersons is they have autoimmune disorders which is a totally different topic.
I'm suggesting you take some time and learn some of the basics. Theres nothing like an understanding of fundamentals to protect you from charlatans trying to sell you pseudoscience.
I didn't say anything about being literally full of shit, not sure where you got that.

I'm not disagreeing with how you feel all I've merely suggested is that you could (probably) get the same or most likely better results from a slightly more varied diet if you could figure out exactly which foods you've removed that were giving you trouble.

So far I've provided multiple links to data but you're too blinded by dogma to deal with any of the science.
Lets all hope you don't go evangelizing like a vegan.

You wont get scurvy from eating fresh meats. It's from living on dried meats for months.

Sorry, I believe dieticians and health experts are basically no better than placebo. If you look at historical data, there is really no proof 'healthy' diets do anything. It is what it is.

Lets all hope you don't go evangelizing like a vegan.

Not my personality. I was just seeing if anyone else was eating like this, you know, to compare notes or whatever.

Scurvy is caused by a lack of Vitamin C - cooked red meats don't contain appreciable amount - so you would have to get it elsewhere.

Here is some reading for you (there are some meat based solutions for Vitamin C):

10 nutrients you can't get from animal foods
